Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Amechi-Obigwe, MD
Dr. Adanna Amechi-Obigwe grew up in Nigeria, where a strong sense of community and personal connection shaped her approach to caring for others. From early on, she learned the importance of listening, trust, and treating people with dignity. These values continue to guide her practice today.
After graduating from the University of Nigeria, Enugu, she practiced general medicine before moving to the United States. She completed her Family Medicine training in New York and Minnesota, became board-certified, and practiced with the Mayo Health System, where she earned recognition for excellence in diabetes management and patient satisfaction.
In 2012, she made Texas her home. There, she found a community that reflects the same values she holds in her medical practice: connection, trust, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
HER PHILOSOPHY
Because True Health Takes Connection
Dr. Amechi-Obigwe believes healthcare should never feel rushed or impersonal. That’s why she limits the number of patients she sees, allowing her to provide the attention and continuity each person deserves.
Her philosophy is simple:
Simplicity.
Straightforward membership structure, no surprise bills.
Connection.
Meaningful conversations, continuous follow-up, and more availability.
Trust.
An ongoing relationship focused on prevention, wellness, and quality of life.
With this model, patients have access to the physician they know, when they need her most.
